I’ve got a robot character that is based on a ball jointed doll. For the longest time, I’ve wanted to make a real doll of them, and finally I decided to buckle down and start using a 3D sculpting program to actually make one. Problem: Blender was completely unintuitive for me, despite being the most financially accessible. (Read: free)

But I found several youtube tutorials on how to make a bjd in an iPad app called Nomad Sculpt. Since it was only about $15 as a one-time purchase, I decided to go for it. I am so glad I did, because it’s so much more intuitive to me than Blender. Within just a couple of days of practice, I have the following attempt at a sculpt.
